Texxas Jam Tribute Festival is more than just the main tribute acts that are performing on the main stage, we have also included several side events that are scheduled throughout the day between and during the main stage performances.
Event Host DC Chumley
The 2018 Texxas Jam Tribute Festival will be hosted by Darrell Chumley of "Barside Jive." Better known as 'DC' he will be the voice of this year's event introducing the main stage bands and other events of the day. Catch DC on his rock & roll show, "Barside Jive" on the Vokal Media platform alongside "The ZOO" beginning in April 2018!
Eddie Van Halen Guitar Solo Competition
Kickin' off the show on Saturday, May 12th, we are having an Eddie Van Halen Guitar Solo Competition starting at 1 pm.
If you feel you have what it takes to compete in this event, bring it on! Open to anyone, any age, amateur musician or professional, so step up, sign up and be heard! One Winner will receive a $150 Cash Prize, Trophy, 10 hours of rehearsal time at Texas Jam Rehearsal Studios, they also get to join VHX tribute band ON STAGE to perform a FULL SONG and of course Bragging Rights.

Texas Musicians Museum Inducts Bruce Corbitt
In honor of a fellow DFW singer/songwriter, the Texas Musicians Museum is inducting Bruce Corbitt, vocalist for Thrash Metal Dallas band Rigor Mortis. Bruce will be inducted into the museum with an presentation and unveiling. The time for this event will be announced soon and posted on the Texxas Jam Tribute Festival website and social media outlets.
Silent Auction Of Original Texxas Jam Memorabilia
A selection of original Texxas Jam Memorabilia will be auctioned off during the event that will consist of posters, original photos, ticket stubs and other various items. Winners of all auctioned items will be expected to purchased their items soon after the auctions close. Cash or Credit Cards are the ONLY two forms of payment excepted. More details will be posted soon.
Texxas Jam Book Vernon L. Gowdy III
Straight out of Oklahoma City, OK, famed photographer and book publisher Vernon L. Gowdy III will be set up at this years event selling copies of his 2010 Texxas Jam Book: 1978 - 1988 as well as limited concert photographs from his book and a few exclusive poster prints. Vernon has also published all of the Rocklahoma Festival Concert Books and The History of The Cain's Ballroom.
"When Dallas Rocked" A Documentary by Kirby Warnock
We are proud to present a showing of "When Dallas Rocked" a great documentary by Buddy Magazine writer/editor Kirby Warnock. This time piece documentary showcase some of the great moments in DFW rock history with awesome photos, videos and interviews from many of the people who lived the glory days of Dallas Texas Rock N' Roll. Featuring the beginning of The Zew 98.5 FM Radio, Mother Blues, many of the great DFW Record Companies from their hay days and into the early Texxas Jam's.

We are honored to be showing the Texxas Jam documentary by director James McWilliams and Producer Daniel Keith on the Big Screen inside the Crossroads Stage.
On July 4th weekend, 1978, in Dallas, TX, almost 100,000 people crammed inside the Cotton Bowl during the hottest day of the decade for the first real stadium rock show in the south. The success of the Texxas Jam led to a decade long of stadium rock shows and launched the careers of new bands all across the south. This is the untold story of the greatest stadium rock show Texas has ever seen.

The showings will be presented in segments inside on a Big Screen in the Crossroads Stage.
